Drums

Here are descriptions of the kinds of Drums and Rattles I am making.

All the drums I make are one-of-a-kind creations and are designed for use in shamanic journeying, meditation, or general use as musical instrument. I strive for beauty, high resonance, and ease of use,.

My shaman drums are made from the hides of many animals: Elk, Horse, Bear, Buffalo, and Reindeer. I do not use deer or antelope hide because they are too thin and brittle.

Single Headed Shaman Drums: I make  these in diameters of 13", 15", 17", 20". They are typically 5/8" to 1/2 " thick and 3" inches wide.

Sami, Siberian, and Inuit style drums are special drums adapted from the drums used in each of these cultures.

A hand-made mallet is included with every drum except for a few of the medicine drums.. These are typically made of wild-crafted chokecherry wood or hand-turned with various hard woods, such as maple, walnut, and other exotic woods.

Rattles

My rattles are made of various types of rawhide, gourds, metal, and any thing else that strikes my fancy and is suitable for a rattle. Inside the rattles are various stone, pebble, crystal, semiprecious stones and other talismanic items. The decoration is designed to enhance the power of the rattle and to serve as a focus for journeying.

Talismans, Jewelry, Cloud spirits

These items are designed with particular mystical intent. This is discussed next to each item in the Sales Gallery
